Simar Malhotra is a Stanford graduate, author of There Is A Tide and Tides Don't Cross. She is also the founder of Inkpot India, a platform to engage with Indian art, culture and society. In this episode we discussed her process, character development, themes and focus on societal issues. Her experience with Rupa publications, thoughts on literary agents and self-publishing. According to Simar, there are two ways in which change is brought about in society: public policies and art. With Inkpot she'd like us to engage with art that has been born in India, since even the West is now turning towards us to consume our art and culture (case in point Yoga and Ayurveda!).
