Sports Dad Hub Podcast episode 24 features the story of Joshua Plante. Growing up in Canada, Josh became hyper focused on playing Division I football in the States. He was so focused that his self identity became completely wrapped up in his pursuit to play Division 1 football. But when injury cut his dream short, just as he was about to fulfill it, his world crumbled. For years, he defined himself as a football player. His life revolved around his goal to play for a big time college. After he could no longer play football, he felt lost. His life didn't have purpose. Who was he if he couldn't play football? In this episode Josh shares his journey of self discovery, and how he realized that all of the great character traits he developed in the pursuit of his dream translate into anything he chooses to do in life. Today Josh lives in Carrum Downs, Victoria, Australia where he helps empower future leaders to "discover their flow." A few years ago, Josh took up shot put and fell in love with throwing sports as his competitive outlet. He also coaches youth athletes and loves helping kids and teens discover the world of throwing sports.
