The Oregon legislature passed legislation to provide an additional one billion dollars each year for Oregon schools to improve attendance & graduation rates and enhance early-childhood education. The Marion Polk League of Women Voters held a panel discussion on December 4, 2019, to inform the community about the provisions of the act and current actions being taken by two local school districts to implement it.  The speakers were Scott Nine and Sara Michelson from the Oregon Department of Education, Dr. Jennifer Kubista, Central School District, and Kraig Sproles, Salem-Keizer Public School District.
