GoTigers247's Tigers in 20

Miscellaneous

In this episode of Off the Boards, host and lead writer Christian Fowler and GT247 veteran Jonah Jordan sit down to discuss three-star wide receiver Roc Taylor and his commitment to Memphis. Taylor signed with Memphis on National Signing Day after Tennessee pulled his offer on Tuesday, and he is the highest rated player in the Tigers' 2021 class. With the addition of Taylor, Memphis' 2021 class is up to No. 45 overall in the 247Sports Team Rankings. Taylor is currently ranked as the No. 440 overall player in the class and the No. 15 overall player from the state of Alabama. The three-star prospect was named first-team all-state in Alabama's Class 6A after racking up over 1,000 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns, and he also stood out during the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game practices. Throughout the podcast, Fowler and Jordan discuss what Taylor brings to Memphis' receiving corps with his size and ability to box out defenders. Taylor joins three-stars Cameron Wright and Tyrese Johnson as Memphis' receiver commits for the '21 class, and they all three have great size. With his big-bodied frame, Taylor has the ability to play outside receiver for the Tigers, and they can also slide him to tight end in certain packages if need be. Ryan Silverfield and the staff have built a spectacular '21 class, and Taylor is the cherry on top.
