GoTigers247's Tigers in 20

Miscellaneous

In episode 101 of GT247's Tigers in 20, host and lead writer Christian Fowler, GoTigers247 founder Brooks Hansen and GoTigers247 digital content producer Kenny Stubblefield discuss the latest in Memphis football and basketball. To begin the episode, the crew quickly recaps Memphis' win over East Carolina, but the center of the discussion is on Alex Lomax. The junior guard had 10 points, nine assists, five rebounds and five steals on Saturday, and he has been a major piece of the Tigers' turnaround. Fowler, Hansen and Stubblefield all give their takes on Lomax and how important his play has been for Memphis this season. The Memphis native has been extremely impressive on both ends of the floor, which has helped the team in a big way. Next, the trio gives their opinion on the NCAA and AAC tournament. There are still plenty of people holding out hope for Penny Hardaway and the Tigers to get an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament, and the crew explains why that is very unrealistic at this point.  Hansen explains how the only way for the Tigers to get an at-large big would be for them to win out and for Houston to lose at least two games. Following the discussion on the NCAA Tournament, the crew explains how Memphis needs to run the table over the last eight games to get as good of a seed as possible for the conference tournament. If Memphis is able to lock down the two or three seed and get a first round bye, then they will have a much better chance to win the AAC tournament and get an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Finally, the trio answers questions that were asked on the site, including their thoughts on Boogie Ellis, football transfers Memphis' top 2022 targets and much more.
