GoTigers247's Tigers in 20

Miscellaneous

In episode 104 of GT247's Tigers in 20, host and lead writer Christian Fowler, GoTigers247 founder Brooks Hansen and GT247 digital content creator Kenny Stubblefield discuss the latest in Memphis football and basketball. To begin the episode, the trio discusses Memphis' heartbreaking loss against Houston. The Tigers played a solid game against the Cougars, but Tramon Mark hit a three-pointer right inside half court as time expired to beat Memphis. The GT247 crew explains that the small, mental mistakes put the Tigers in a bad position and allowed Houston to squeak by with a win. Memphis shot 50 percent from the free throw line and missed multiple easy buckets down low, which hurt them down the stretch. Hansen, Fowler and Stubblefield all give their takeaways from the game and what it means for Penny Hardaway and the Tigers going into the American Athletic Conference tournament.  Following the discussion of the Houston game, the crew moves on to the upcoming conference tournament. Memphis will have a first-round bye as the No. 3 seed, and they will play either UCF or East Carolina on Friday at 9 p.m. CST. Fowler explains why he is a bit worried about the Tigers in the conference tournament. Memphis has occasionally overlooked inferior opponents, and they can't afford to do that in a tournament where every team is fighting to play on Sunday. A potential rematch against Houston is very possible on Saturday, but the Tigers can't overlook the quarterfinal matchup. Finally, the trio gives their honest opinion on if Memphis will win the conference tournament or not. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
