Drew Beasley is a sophomore at DePaul University who recently traveled to Sumatra, Bali, and Fiji. Though these are all desirable countries for leisurely travel, what he got out of it was so much more than just a vacation. Through month-long home stays, volunteering, and practicing eco-tourism, he learned more about his surroundings and himself than the average traveler would.
