Message from 22/03/2020 by Nicolene Du PlessisChristians are called believers, but many times, we are more like unbelieving believers. We trust our friends, the bank, the stock market or the government more than we trust God and His Word.In John 15:5, Jesus says that apart from Him, we can do nothing. We need to lean on Him for help with everything in our lives. What is trust: DEFINITION OF TRUST 1 a: assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something   b: one in which confidence is placed   c: confident expectation of something; hope. The words translated “trust” in the Bible literally mean “a bold, confident, sure security or action based on that security.”Trust is not exactly the same as faith, which is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8-9). Rather, trusting is what we do because of the faith we have been given. God is:ALL KNOWING & EVERYWHERE AND FULLY SOVEREIGN IN CONTROL. HE NEVER CHANGES, HE IS ALL POWERFUL, HE IS WISE, FAITHFUL, He is Good –kind and Full of Good Will, God Is Just – Right and Perfect in All He Does, God Is Merciful – Compassionate and KindGod Is Gracious, compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. –  Inclined to Spare the Guilty, God Is Holy & PerfectHE IS YOUR HEALER, PROVIDER AND ON YOUR SIDETRUST IS ONLY POSSIBLE WHEN I REALIZE HE LOVES ME – FROM THAT POINT FEAR IS CAST OUT.Prov 3:5Mark 2 – 6-8Luke 16:132 Corinthians 5:7Psalm 118:8James 4:7Philippians 4:6-9Results of Trust:Joy and PeaceRemoved obstacles and a clear wayGood HealthGrahame cook:“I have seen beauty and extreme loving kindness. I have been to hell and prospered because He held my hand. I have lost everything and thrived. I have been in the valley of the shadow and lost all fear. I have been on the mountain, bathed in a light so strong I thought I would dissolve in happiness. In the depths of humiliation and embarrassment, crushed by my own stupidity and inadequacy, he showed me a grace so amazing it brought healing to my soul. He taught me how to find kindness everywhere, and the fun in being patient. His love leaves me awestruck with gratitude. In all these encounters, every event of my life has been about his primary purpose in making me in his image. “
