Zane Simon & Eddie Mercado are back to breakdown the ‘UFC 257’ PPV event. The guys will have hot takes, possible next fights, as well as reactions to the overall events. Sign up for the #ESPN+ PPV and watch #UFC257: #POIRIERvsMCGREGOR2 & #HookerChandler - JANUARY 23rd. - #UFCFIGHTISLAND http://go.web.plus.espn.com/c/482924/595608/9070?sharedid=BloodyElbow Tonight, Saturday, January 23rd., 2021, in the main event of UFC 257, we had a battle, an all out war for the highly anticipated rematch between Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier and Conor ‘The Notorious’ McGregor. McGregor with a 21-4 record and Poirier with a 26-6 record hadn’t fought one another since UFC 178 back in September of 2014. In our co-main event, we had fight veteran Dan ‘The Hangman’ Hooker and newcomer ‘Iron’ Michael Chandler, making his UFC debut, after leaving Bellator MMA last fall. These top two bouts closed the night out with a couple of major upsets — which a few bettors must have been thrilled to see. Overall, this 11-bout card saw only one swift finish in Round 1 - our Co-Main event, one submission, four exciting KO/TKO’s - including the Main & Co-Main events, six decisions - 1 split. Rounding things out, bonuses for putting forth POTN efforts went to Dustin Poirier, Makhmud Muradov, Marina Rodriguez and Michael Chandler; FOTN honors went to no one, surprisingly. What a night of fights we have to share with you! Also on the card, we had an exciting women’s Flyweight bout taking place between America’s Jessica ‘Evil’ Eye and the Scottish brawler Joanne ‘Bad MOFO’ Calderwood. Both ladies were coming at this off a loss; Eye having been defeated by Cynthia Calvillo back in June, 2020, while Calderwood was handed her defeat from Jennifer Maia in August, 2020. As if that’s not enough, we also had an exciting match-up for our featured prelim between up-and-comers Arman Tsarukyan and Matt ‘Steamrolla’ Revola, also at Lightweight; which was all preceded by a fully-packed undercard with two sets of prelims. Join us to discuss all the action... Here’s a look at the fight card results & updated fight records for the event: UFC 257: ‘POIRIER VS MCGREGOR 2’ ESPN+ MAIN PPV CARD | SAT. JAN 23 11.
