Pete and Rob are joined by Michael Leboff of the Action Network to discuss all of the hockey betting and futures storylines just past the midway point in the NHL season. Mike makes a case for the value in betting on the Blues and Flames to improve and make noise the rest of the way, reacts to Islanders wing Anders Lee’s season-ending injury and gives his best bets for the final playoff spots that appear to be up for grabs around the League. The guys discuss the perennial resiliency of the Capitals and Penguins, the Rangers’ sneaky appeal in the second half, whether the Stars are worth the love they are getting from the sports books and the Canucks’ outside chance to ride Thatcher Demko into the playoffs. Other debates include Philipp Grubauer for the Vezina Trophy, the Wild’s sustainability and potential to claim multiple awards plus some sneaky picks for the Presidents’ Trophy. Pete and Rob also throw in fantasy waiver wire notes on Ducks defenseman Jamie Drysdale and Maple Leafs forward Alex Galchenyuk.
