Jamaica announces its first case of COVID-19 on March 10, 2020. Up to June 5, 2020, Jamaica has 591 confirmed COVID-19 cases and a recovery rate of 62.3% with 368 recoveries in total. The first human cases of the novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2 or COVID-19 were first reported by officials in Wuhan City, China, in December 2019. To date, more than 6.7 million people have been infected and nearly 400,000 have died as a result of the virus.
