Progressive Christianity has found a home in the cradle of the Bible Belt. From the pulpit, a preacher has declared: “The Bible isn’t the word of God.” “As Progressive Christians, we’re open to the tensions and inconsistencies in the Bible. We know that it can’t live up to impossible, modern standards. We strive to more clearly articulate what Scripture is and isn’t.” In this episode, I interview a woman whose church took a radical turn that created a crisis of faith for her. Alisa Childers is a former singer of the Christian pop band ZOEgirl. She’s a passionate Christian, a mother and wife, and an author of a book we should all read.
