The weird history of the 1904 Olympics is insane. The Louisiana Worlds Fair hosted the 1904 Olympics Games and the marathon event was so poorly organised it nearly caused many of the competitors to lose their lives. Wild dogs, poison, cheating and dust wreaked havoc with the runners and it's surprising anyone managed to finish let alone win!Join me today for another Macabre Mini Mystery as I delve into the 1904 Olympic Marathon.*I made a few geographical mistakes in the video (was concentrating on the story, not the place, oops!) So.... St. Louis is pronounced “Lewis” and only called by the French pronunciation as a nickname or slang. I keep saying Louisiana, but the 1904 St. Louis olympics were in St. Louis, Missouri.
