When Christians are asked who has the task of Israel's priesthood, some have no clue, but many answer, "The Levites." Correct! When Christians are asked who has the task of Israel's kingship, more of them know and answer, "The tribe of Judah!" But this was not always so. In fact, from ancient times it was the Patriarch of the family that served as God's kings (family rulers) and priests. And since the patriarchy of the family fell to the firstborn son upon the father's death, the firstborn son served as family "king" and priest. This was the original design from the start and will be at the End and into eternity.
