Josh Lucas plays oil company inspector Paul Sturgess, who is dispatched to a small town in Baja to look into the "El Diamante" drilling platform in The Black Demon Yesmovies. He travels with his wife Ines (Fernanda Urrejola), their two kids, teenage Audrey (Venus Ariel), and younger brother Tommy (Carlos Solorzano), who has fond memories of the city. When they get there, they discover that the city is in ruins, barely resembling what it once was. Paul leaves his family on shore and boards the first boat because it seems like there is a pressing need to get him off the rig. He finds a megalodon shark in the water below in addition to the rig being dangerous and dilapidated. Unfortunately, Paul's family decides to follow him, and they are all stranded on the rig, along with the two remaining workers, Chato (Julio César Cedillo) and Junior (Jorge A. Jimenez). Worse, time is running out for the rig itself.
