Green Shoots: Industry Panel Travel Update

Host Kit Parks is getting ready to turn 60 this fall and after finding someone to manage her rental business, she is now able to retire. No longer needing to live in Eastern NC, she takes time to assess her life, figure out where she wants to live (mountains and trails are a 'must have') and tries to figure out the next phase of her life while incorporating her dreams and desires.   This will be the "Summer of Kit".  She plans to take the summer off from podcasting this and the Adventure Travel Show podcast to recalculate her life.  She also hopes to take "Sophie" her new to her Sprinter Camper Van on a cross country trip to explore our national and state parks and hopes to connect with listeners along the way. Summer Update

072 Adventures in Morocco : Marrakesh, Chefchaouen, the Sahara & Atlas Mountains and more! Our visit to Morocco today focuses on the exotic culture as well as hiking in the Atlas Mountains. We take a camel trek in the Sahara Desert.  We visit Marrakesh, Chefchaouen, Casablanca, and Berber villages.  We take a cooking class, take a night street food tour, explore a Kasbah, watch craftsmen make their wares, such as wool rugs, tanned leather goods, mosaic tile work and pottery.  We tour a massive mosque in Casablanca. I interview our guide, Chama, about what it’s like to be a modern Berber Muslim woman in Morocco, and as a hiking and cycling guide for her native country. Trekking North India's Valley Of Flowers And Chopta Trek

The Middle Fork of the Salmon River in central Idaho is one of the earliest designated Wild and Scenic Rivers in the US and is considered the crown jewel of the system. The Salmon River flows through the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness Area.The river flows through a steep canyon with 7000’ of vertical drop, making it deeper than the Grand Canyon. Last summer, I joined a dozen other ladies, soon to be friends, on a week long rafting and boating trip down this remote, untouched absolutely stunning wilderness where there is no electricity, no cell phones, not even a road or building for more than 2 million square acres! It’s just us, a dory aka paddle boat for those who choose not to raft, and three rafts for those that do, plus four very skilled female guides and a supply raft with two crew. So picture this: it’s just us and the pines, the canyons and the eagles, and of course the river. Hike the Dolomites

 Jenny , an Active Travel Adventures listener lives in Flagstaff and shares her love of her beautiful adventure paradise on today's show – in fact after we chatted, she wondered if she should just keep Flagstaff a secret!  Located in northern Arizona on the southern part of the Colorado plateau, Flagstaff has a metro population over 130,000 which means it's large enough to support great culture and restaurants, yet small enough to retain a community feel.
