About

When Adela de la Torre, Ph.D., became president of San Diego State University last year, she embarked on a listening tour involving hundreds of conversations and fireside chats (charlas) with SDSU students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members. They shared stories of the university’s 121-year legacy as a catalyst for groundbreaking teaching, research, innovation, and creative activities. In Fireside Charla, President de la Torre shares those stories through casual conversations with diverse leaders and trailblazers who comprise the greater SDSU community. The topics range from aerospace to augmented reality, from SDSU history to innovative classrooms and learning experiences that are preparing the global citizens, compassionate leaders, and ethical innovators who will impact their communities and the world.
