A place to listen and learn from each other and come together.    In this first episode  'Gay's The Word' is England's only LGBT+ bookshop - the rest have been wiped out. Jim McSweeney talks about how over 4 decades the shop has survived government raids, vandalism and the threat from online - and how if tough times return, you could always make a sex club in the basement! Lady Phyll (Phyll Opoku-Gyimah) was told by the organisers of Pride to f*** off, and that there would never be a black pride. So she walked away in tears and set one up. She talks racism and LGBT+ visibility. And in the first 'coming out story', 24 year old Sophie from Derby renders us speechless as she shares her journey out of the closet. Enjoy!
