We're Back!

It's important to set time aside periodically to work on projects that are fulfilling for you. These offer a nice relaxing break from the busy chaos and can also serve as a place to try out things that you normally wouldn't work with. You just never know what you will create during this time. You may find a totally new approach to your craft and take it to the next level.

Creative Corner

Rose has been going through a tough time with her health. She was just diagnosed with a hiatal hernia. If you're not familiar, this is when the stomach pushes through a part of the diaphragm muscle. There are a few other health topics we cover along the way from having her gallbladder removed to trying to stay active and fit. The decisions we make today impact us much more the further down the road we head.

Health Conscious

When creating our podcast we've run into a number of issues from the technical side of things. Sometimes we have to re-record episodes. It's both time consuming and also confusing trying to recreate the conversation that we've already had. This leads to strain on our schedule and also adds additional stress. We feel that YouTubers should be able to set a healthy work life balance without feeling the need to always crank out another video regardless of how it impact them personally. We dig into the story behind that video and how things were initially planned out for that day. Things sometimes don't go to plan but every once and a while it works in your favor. That day was one of those instances.

Winter Outdoor Adventures

We're back with another episode of the podcast. There's a few things we've been noticing in the YouTube world and we share our thoughts on these topics. We discuss the hot topic of minimalism and also touch on the assumptions trend. We also dive into things that we like as viewers when it comes to sponsorships and ads being run on a YouTube channel. There are ways to do this which are less intrusive and also more open and honest with your viewership. If you want to avoid ads all together crowd funding is a great way to break away from the corporate sponsorship. This will allow you to keep creative integrity while being supported directly from your community. Plus it's not forced on anyone, everyone has the choice to support you directly or to not.

Social Media Trends & Influencers

Video games have been a huge part of our lives. It's actually part of how we met and started dating. We reminisce on some of our favorites that we haven't played in a while including World of Warcraft (WOW), Trials Fusion, Towerfall Ascension, Diablo, and more. As our schedule becomes busier and busier it's harder to find the right games that fit into our limited free time. A lot of story driven games are ruled out because there's no way we'll ever complete a game that's 20+ hours long.

Our first podcast of 2019! We reflect on the last year and look for ways to improve. We discuss what we've learned in our first year of being on YouTube. We share a variety of tips that can also be applied to other hobbies and business ventures.

Learning As You Go

As we take on new and exciting projects our studio space becomes more and more difficult to keep in this balance. We cover our thought process when it came to designing our latest layout. It's important for creators to have a dedicated space to have just for projects. You will want to make this an area that is full of inspiration and also an area that you can hop in and immediately get to work when the creativity strikes. This space should have everything at the ready, no set up should be involved. If you're like us, having to always clean an area before working will lead to a lot less time working on creative tasks. Studio layouts aren't permanent so it can always be improved. We are always finding ways to make our videos more intriguing while also striving to find the most efficient way to store our equipment and supplies.

Now that the Black Friday madness is over, we reflect on why this time of year is tough for designers and artists alike. This time of year has so many doorbusters and sales it's so tempting to go out and finance all sorts of new gear. It's more important to focus on what is currently available to you and master what you have rather than going out and spending money you don't have. Black Friday Madness

In our first episode we talk about distractions that prevent us from accomplishing our goals. The things that interrupt our workflow the most are Netflix, YouTube, social media platforms such as Facebook & Reddit, home renovations, and allowing time for friends & family. We share some of the solutions that we've put in place to minimize the impact of these distractions, as well as talking about some of the things we are still work on.

Welcome to the Unbounded Artistry Podcast! We are Brandon and Rosemary, and together we are co-owners of Teal Fish Studio which is an art and design business that we founded with no financial backing or business loans. In this introductory podcast episode, we share a little bit about our education and creative hobbies before digging into what the podcast will be about. We'll be talking about getting your business off the ground, time management, challenges, successes, and everything else that comes along with starting a business. We talk about our YouTube channels for both Teal Fish Studio and Unbounded Artistry where we will engage in a multitude of creative endeavors, and use these as a creative outlet. We're looking to review and discuss visual and creative arts, digital design, and music production. The schedule for the Unbounded Artistry Podcast will be uploaded bi-weekly in both audio and video format found on the Unbounded Artistry YouTube. On opposite weeks we will produce the YouTube video content on the Teal Fish Studio channel to provide weekly content.
