We’ve seen police brutality throughout the history of our country and today it has become police murder; from Eric Garner to Sandra Bland who “mysteriously” died in police custody to the brutal slayings of Terrence Crutcher and Keith Lamont Scott. We are plagued by our own lies, our fears and our isms. Racism is a legacy we’ve created that has given us the permission to hate other human beings because of their ethnic make-up. I believe the real sickness here is hate. There is a systemic structure of hate that has infiltrated our country. We hate because of religion, creed and color. Until we treat the real illness we will keep on dying at the hands of the symptoms. Be human first! Be compassionate. Diminish your hate!
