This episode is raw and vulnerable. Eating disorders, body dysmorphia, and body image are not talked about enough in our society. In this episode, both Hannah Studee and Paige open up about their personal experiences with anorexia, bulimia, body dysmorphia, body shaming, comparison, and more.Hannah Studee has been a gymnast since age 3, she has always been passionate about the body--why does it move a certain way, how does it operate, why do we do exercises the way we do? She also grew up incredibly passionate about art, water sports, longboarding, and fitness. Today, she has her own makeup business, Beauty by Studee. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer as she also runs her fitness business, Body by Studee. Hannah was in 7th grade when she experienced her first bout of an eating disorder. She had been criticized for the appearance of her body by coaches and dance teachers and eventually it became too much, so she started restricting and over exercsising. For years, Hannah has struggled with orthorexia, anorexia, bulimia, and  body dysmorphia. This past year, Hannah came to the realization that she needed help, she needed to take back the control and learn how to love herself and her body.Hannah wants to make a difference by raising awareness for eating disorders in the fitness industry and beyond. She wants to open up about her struggles for the sake of her clients and others who possibly have been in or currently are struggling with the same thing. Eating Disorders are a mental illness. They take control of people's lives and consume their every thought. We need to have more conversations around the commonality of these disorders and how we can help one another through them. One of the hardest things to do is to admit that you need help. If you want to talk futher, reach out to Hannah or myself.
