Get Your Clients To Hold Themselves Accountable In Your Group Coaching Program

If you are on the fence about whether you should join a higher-end group coaching program that is $6k-20k, or whether you should just hire a 1-1 coach for $2-10k, then this is for you. You should know up front that there’s a different way you must hold yourself accountable in a group coaching program, over private 1:1 coaching.    There is a major difference between the level of support you get from a DIY course and a group coaching program. When you really think about it, courses tend to only teach you information, where the creator leaves it up to you to implement the strategies. However, a high-ticket group coaching program has support built into the offer itself, where the creator invests time coaching you, helping you with the implementation of strategies that are being taught, and providing a space for you to get support both from your peers and the coach themselves.    Yet, clients are often most hesitant about joining a group coaching program because they want 1:1 support, and are fearful they won’t get that in a group container.    Let me be clear: most group coaching programs have 1:1 support. The caveat is it’s ’s just NOT PRIVATE, but it’s still personalized 1:1 direct support.   This is an important distinction to make. The clarifying question you need to ask yourself is: What do I really need to get results? Am I just wanting to ensure I  receive 1:1 attention, answering specific questions as they come up?    If the answer is yes, then a group coaching program may be exactly what you are looking for because you still get personalized answers and the benefit of other people doing it with you at the same time. It’s a 2-for-1.    For example, anytime a concern or question is brought up a group coaching call, the client IS getting specific 1:1 support. It just isn’t private.    Most of us have never understood group programs through this lens, that 1:1 support is included, just not behind closed doors.    If you are nervous about showing up with vulnerability in a group container, I get that. But I think this is something as a business owner, you must work on. If you ever desire to lead a team or work with high-level clients of your own, you must first learn how to ask clear questions and diagnose the real problem that needs to be solved. What’s really causing you to feel that hesitation of being vulnerable if you are in a group container where other people are experiencing the exact same problems?   Before you make the investment, this is a conscious decision you must make. You must evaluate - do I actually need private 1-1 support? OR am I just looking for a container that will give me personalized and customized feedback, when I ask for it, and in a timely manner?   If you just want to make sure your questions are answered, with direct feedback on the questions you have, then a group container will be amazing for you!    The benefit of a group coaching program is that when you ask questions about a specific situation, you not only get the main coach’s response, but you also benefit from the experience and wisdom from your peers, who’ve worked through the exact problems you have questions about. Since they are on the same journey you are on, they can offer perspectives that are directly applicable. It’s a win-win.    There are several ways to hold yourself accountable in a group coaching program. This includes but is not limited to: asking your own questions, sharing a win and how you did it, sharing a lesson learned (read--failure) and how you bounced back, or through answering other people’s questions by providing your perspective. Or for example, my best clients are fully present on our group coaching calls --they come with their camera on, their notebook out, and are there ready to contribute or to absorb and learn as much as possible.
