Hello and welcome to planted a space made for you to plant seeds of encouragement to live a holistically healed life. Let’s talk fiber! We hear a lot about carbs, protein, fats, vitamins and minerals but what about fiber. I thought it was so important that I made a whole episode on it. This was a missing link for me. If I think about all the health issues I went through and what I know now. Fiber is key! Studies has shown that it helps to reduce the risk of cancers in the colon, breast, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and premature death in general. Um-sign me up! So where can you find this magical nutrient in whole plant foods. Animal foods have 0 fiber same goes for processed foods. On average canadians are getting 14g of fiber/day and the goal is b/w 25-3g, so we are kinda falling short.Today I chat about:What is fibre:Why it’s important:How much do I need?Where do you get it fromResources:https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3628376/https://globalnews.ca/news/4386572/canadians-not-getting-enough-fibre-in-their-diet-naturopathic-doctor/Come say Hi:Website: http://sadethomasos.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sadethomasosnutrition/Itunes: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/planted/id1478037236Music by: https://soundcloud.com/lakeyinspired/overjoyedThanks for tuning in!
