Falen is from Southern Indiana and has been in radio since 2002. She has been the is the co-host of the Dave Ryan in the morning show for 9 years. She is married to Jake and has a step-son and 15 month old baby, Olive. Falen has a podcast, Heartbroken, where real people share real stories of heartbreak. It is mainly relationship based, however, they cover topics around death of a partner, parents, still birth, etc. In this episode, we have an honest conversation around vulnerability as a person in the public eye, the two sides of social media, the universaility of heartbreak, and much more. Falen has been vulnerable since before it was cool, her image and career is built on her ability to connect with people through her voice and authenticity. While this has led to success, it has also come with challenges. She recieves negative comments on social media, struggles with people disliking her, went through her own heartbreak publicly, and now is contemplating the future of her podcast, Heartbroken. Falen wants to help people feel less alone, be real and authentic, and pursue things that are creative, help people, and that she has pure passion for. Her journey is relateable and inspiring.
