As we reflect on the "State of the Union" on July 4th or even the state of our world, from 2 Peter 3, Pastor Justin encourages us to wake up and remember why it is that Jesus came. He came to seek and save the lost. He is still seeking and saving, and the fact that He has not returned yet, means there are still those among the "sinners" of the world who will turn to Him and be made new. Church in our slumber we have become like Jonah who didn't want the people of Nineveh to be saved, but asked for their destruction. Church wake up and remember that He came for the broken and the sick, not those who are well. He came to redeem and make clean those who are filthy, not throw them out because they haven't yet turned to Him.
