Stress is a common part of every workplace, and leaders experience it more than most. In one particularly stressful part of my leadership career, I started to notice myself getting more frustrated and upset at situations in my workplace. I decided that I wanted to make sure I was calm and composed and able to take on stressful work environments without flying off the handle. After receiving some advice from a senior colleague, I decided to give mindfulness exercises a try. Mindfulness takes a little practice, but it isn't difficult. It really helps you to become more aware of your thoughts and feelings and how you are responding to situations in your life. In this episode I share some tips on mindfulness that can help you remain calm and composed in your leadership role. After all, people are looking at us to provide a good example... we are role models, even if we don't really feel like it!
